  • Product reviews: When reviewers use AI without actually testing products, they're essentially writing advertising copy disguised as honest feedback
  • Résumés and cover letters: Both recruiters and AI experts can spot machine-generated job applications, defeating their core purpose of showing personal alignment with job requirements

The problem goes beyond detection. Procopio argues that AI content often becomes "word salad"—technically correct language that lacks genuine meaning or personal connection.

Despite advancing AI capabilities, Procopio emphasizes that effective communication requires authentic human insight. His original platform focused on "automating insights, not words," helping people understand data rather than replacing meaningful human expression.

He warns against using generative AI as a substitute for personal connection, especially in contexts where authenticity matters most—like personal emails, honest reviews, and professional communications.

The expert's message is clear: while AI has legitimate uses, overreliance on it for human communication often backfires, making users appear lazy or dishonest rather than efficient.
