Canva Makes History as First Design Platform to Integrate Directly with ChatGPT

Canva has broken new ground in AI-powered design, becoming the first design platform to embed its workspace directly into ChatGPT. This native integration eliminates the need to switch between apps, letting users access their entire Canva library—designs, templates, and brand assets—without leaving the chat interface.

Two Powerful New Tools Launch Today

The integration includes two major components:

  • Deep Research Connector - Gives ChatGPT direct access to your Canva content for more personalized design suggestions
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server - Opens Canva to other AI agents like Salesforce's Agentforce for broader workflow integration

"We're embedding Canva directly into the AI tools people use every day so they can brainstorm, create, and publish content faster," said Anwar Haneef, General Manager and Head of Ecosystem at Canva.

Impressive Growth Numbers

The timing couldn't be better for this expansion. Canva's existing ChatGPT integration has seen explosive growth, with usage surging 375% year-on-year. The platform now serves over 240 million users, including 95% of Fortune 500 companies, and has powered more than 18 billion AI tool uses across educators, marketers, and small businesses.

Privacy and Security Built-In

All integrations are protected by Canva Shield, the company's AI trust and safety framework, ensuring your creative work remains secure while benefiting from AI assistance.

This integration represents a major shift toward AI-native workflows, where design and content creation happen seamlessly within the tools you already use daily.
